Summary of features
An island concentrates the working zone in the centre of the room, leaving the walls and doorways uncluttered, and forming a useful breakfast bar
The grain on the doors is "book-matched" veneer - the same lines of grain run right across each span of cabinets! Oak was chosen for it's ability to be both contemporary and traditional
Sicilian grey granite combines traditional material with a light, contemporary design
The choice of the serious cook! A range cooker with modern styling, chosen in cream to soften the scheme
Handle-less door and drawer opening systems keep the look uncluttered, letting the oak take centre stage
Dimmable pendant lighting illuminates the island workspace with a dramatic look
The extractor is concealed in white boxing to match walls and soffits, concentrating the focus on the furniture
A lowered soffit was built right around the room to house concealed lighting - this helps unify the separate areas of the room
The lowered soffit over the cooking zone contains concealed task lighting as well as concealed uplighters and speakers
Boxing to the sides of the cooking zone contains handy, hidden "secret" storage behind push-open doors
Frosted glass cabinets with lighting provide symmetry and focus on the end wall
Removing the rear wall enabled us to replace the two back doors and existing window with folding sliding doors, opening up the space to the garden
Large travertine stone tiles with undertile heating add a natural feel of light and warmth
Integrated dishwasher
Integrated fridge freezer
Pullout larder storage with soft-close
The existing doors were replaced with frosted glass doors to take advantage of the huge amount of natural light from the new folding sliding doors

The adjacent utility room uses the same palette as the kitchen
